Outreach Servicesimage highlighting stress related symptoms: anxiety, depression, headaches, insomnia

Health Outreach Project

Hands up, who hasn't experienced stress or worry around issues such as debt, housing, claiming benefits, problems at work or unemployment. The practicalities of day to day living can sometimes be complicated by divorce, redundancy, illness or bereavement. You don't have to cope on your own with these issues.

Problems such as these can have a detrimental effect on your health and wellbeing. Often, the stress will present itself as symptoms which may lead to you seeking the advice from a health professional. Although the symptoms can be dealt with the issue causing the stress in the first place remains.

You can receive free, confidential and impartial advice from experienced Citizens Advice advisers from many Health clinics and Doctors' surgeries. We also run advice sessions in Mental Health settings. A diagnosis of cancer can in particular lead to a multitude of anxiety and stress on the patient and their family. Worries about benefit entitlement, debt problems, loss of employment are common issues with our MacMillan outreach workers. Since July 2008, MacMillan Cancer Support have funded our advice services to cancer patients in hospices and in the clients' own homes.

For a complete list of all our Health Outreach locations, see our Outlets page.

Wellbeing Sefton Project.

Are you feeling isolated, fed up, depressed ? Would you like to improve your confidence and meet new people? Do you live in South Sefton? Our Wellbeing Sefton Project may be able to help you! We now offer a new service offering support to people who would like to broaden their horizons, meet new people, become a volunteer, undertake a new activity, return to education, get involved with the local community and much, much more! You will undertake a wellbeing assessment with one of our Wellbeing Sefton team and together you will create your plan of action!

See our leaflet     and poster     for further information.

Children's Centre Project

Are you a parent, grandparent or looking after children. Do you need advice but don't have the time to get it? Don't worry! We know how difficult it can be sometimes to get to the places you need to go to and to obtain the advice that you need when you have a family. You can now see an adviser at your nearest children's centre. While you get the advice that you need, the children can play!

For an appointment just ring your local Centre.
